Simple and Inexpensive Ways to Promote Your Business

Online Communications & Media Relations

Next time you’re driving through a toll booth at a shopping centre, hospital or in the city, pay for the person directly behind you – even if just $5 – and hand your business card to the toll booth operator.

Ask them to hand the card to the driver behind. It won’t always work of course but for five bucks, you get some pretty decent word of mouth!

Other low cost ways of promoting your business include leaving a business card on the table as you leave a restaurant (just make sure you've paid the bill first).

When you’re at the book shop, slide your card into some of the books related to your industry.

And ask local retailers you see regularly (such as dry cleaners, bottle shops, petrol stations) if you can leave your company cards at the counter. If you need a little leverage for them to do so - perhaps suggest that for every referral which translates into business that you're prepared to offer them something in return.

Hey, for the cost of a few cards it could prove fruitful.
